We specialize on the Innovative Treatment of Cancer by Radiation Technology. Within this segment, our specificity is to focus on the treatment of cancer by a technology called “Brachytherapy”.
Brachytherapy is a technique which consists of placing permanent or temporary implants containing a minuscule quantity of a radioactive isotope in the body, directly inside or near the cancerous tissues. These radiotherapeutic implants can take the shape of seeds, plaques or catheters.
The precise positioning of the implants allows to effectively treat the cancer by delivering a cell killing dose to the cancerous cells while sparing the healthy surrounding tissues. This technique aims to reduce secondary effects and considerably increases the patient's quality of life.
Today, IBt Bebig designs, manufactures and distributes products and equipments that effectively treat certain types of cancers such as prostate, neck, head, eye or gynecological cancers.
